Longfellow Grant Information
The Longfellow Community Council (LCC), in partnership with Access Solutions, has launched it’s Seniors Aging in Place Program. $1,000 grants are now available for seniors in the greater Longfellow community of Minneapolis who would like to make modifications to their homes that enable them to live in them longer. As part of the program, interested seniors will receive a free home safety assessment conducted by a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist. Low-cost home modifications, such as installing hand bars in a bathroom, modifying a tub, or repairing exterior features will be funded by the $1,000 grants. If larger modifications, such as adding or renovating a bathroom or laundry room on a first floor are needed, seniors may be able to access LCC’s deferred Adaptability Loan to implement such changes. If you are interested in applying or learning more about the program, please contact:
Alissa Boroff Participants of the grant program must: be 62 years of age, live in the greater Longfellow Community (includes the Howe, Cooper, Longfellow and Hiawatha neighborhoods of Minneapolis) and be the owner of their home. |
