About Access Solutions



Access Solutions provides universal and accessible design consulting services to promote active, safe and independent living for people of all ages and abilities.

Access Solutions staff members combine a dynamic knowledge of interior design and physical and occupational therapy to create solutions to meet the unique needs of each client. By creating a safe and supportive environment, individuals can complete daily tasks without risk of injury.

The process includes identifying a client’s environmental challenges, designing practical solutions, overseeing implementation and educating the client and caregiver on the use of the features or equipment.

Alissa Boroff

Alissa Boroff, BA, CAPS, COTA/L, MN-AS
Access Solutions Director

Alissa holds degrees in Interior Design and Occupational Therapy. She is also a State of Minnesota Accessibility Specialist and Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS).

Alissa’s combination of experience and education provides her with the skills and insight to create functional and pleasing environments to meet the needs of clients and promote safe and independent living for people of all ages and abilities. Alissa joined ATS (Centrex Rehab) in 2003 and prior to founding Access Solutions, Alissa worked for residential and commercial design firms specializing in senior housing and accessible design. She also has worked in skilled nursing facilities providing therapy to seniors. These experiences have given her first hand knowledge and access to the barriers that seniors and the aging encounter on a daily basis. She also is involved in many local and state organizations focused on seniors and aging in place, teaching and speaking about aging in place and universal design to students, professionals, and community members.


David L’Allier, COTA/L, MN-AS, CAPS
Project Coordinator

David is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, graduating from St. Catherine’s University. David is also a State of Minnesota Accessibility Specialist and a Certified Aging in Place Specialist. Prior to joining Access Solutions in 2013, David worked in several fields of construction. His combination of experiences and background give him the skills and insight to work with clients and vendors to create safe, functional environments. David enjoys the rewarding experience of working with people of all ages and abilities to create environments that improve their lives!


Raechel Vande Walle, OTR/L, MN-AS, CAPS
Project Coordinator

Raechel is a licensed Occupational Therapist, Certified Aging in Place Specialist and a State of MN Accessibility Specialist. Prior to joining Access Solutions in 2016, Raechel worked as an Occupational Therapist in a physical disabilities setting with a focus on geriatrics. In this setting, she gained a greater knowledge of disease processes and regularly encountered the barriers that people with disabilities manage within their home and community. Raechel has had an interest in environmental design from a young age and values the opportunity to use design as a means for increasing independence within the client’s home.

Carmen Bradbury, OTR/L, MN-AS, CAPS
Project Coordinator

Carmen has over 20 years of experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist working in many specialty areas including a certification as a Brain Injury Specialist. She has worked in a variety of settings including clinics and hospitals but always most enjoyed her time working directly with people in their homes and communities. She saw repeatedly how many people live very limited lives within their own environments. Since joining Access Solutions in 2017 she has become a State of Minnesota Accessibility Specialist and a Certified Aging in Place Specialist. She welcomes the custom problem solving and creative processes to improve safety and accessibility for people to continue living in their homes.

Kayla Kloosterboer, OTR/L, MN-AS
Project Coordinator

Kayla is a licensed Occupational Therapist and a State of MN Accessibility Specialist. Prior to joining Access Solutions in 2019, Kayla attended graduate school in Wisconsin.  Throughout her schooling, she worked in both an acute rehab setting and in school based therapy working with clients of all ages and abilities.  She has prior experience working as an in-home behavioral therapist where she gained a greater knowledge of client centered treatment and the importance of a safe, functional home environment. Kayla enjoys working one on one with clients to discover unique solutions to environmental safety and accessibility.  

Emily Wander, OTR/L, MN-AS
Project Coordinator

Emily is a licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant and a State of Mn Accessiblity Specialist. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Kinesiology.  Prior to joining Access Solutions in 2019, she worked in various healthcare settings while attaining her degree, including caregiving in hospitals and rehabilitation clinics, where she was able to see firsthand how much a person’s environment can limit their daily lives and caregiving.  The combined education and experience with people of all abilities has given Emily a passion for helping people to reach their maximum independence, and remaining in their homes.

Mary Tobias
Administrative Support Specialist

Mary holds both a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree and Interior Design Associate of Applied Science degree.  Prior to joining Centrex Rehab/Access Solutions in 2017, she worked both in education administration and  also with clients in the selection process for textiles and countertops for their homes.  Mary has a passion for helping people improve their lives and environments.

As a Certified Rehabilitation Agency, Centrex Rehab delivers a comprehensive approach to care including:
